Map Of The World Showing Countries
World maps are used everywhere around the globe, and are most commonly used in schools so students can learn about all the continents and countries that exist outside of their home areas. Businesses and offices often have either digital maps, globes, or pull down maps. World maps are good for businesses who do global work, as they cab help them organize their business in other countries. Spinning world globes are also used as decorative additions to offices, libraries, and homes.
The world is a very large place, and is not easy for the common person to keep track of the geography. A common question that is asked by so many people is how many countries are in the world? While there are 192 members of the United Nations, this is often used to represent the number of countries in the world. While this represents almost all of the countries in the world, there are three more independent nation/states that are not a part of the United Nations; Vatican City, Kosovo, and Taiwan. These three countries tally up the number of countries in the world to 195. While there are 195 countries there are 7 continents that divide up the world, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica.
